This Free download gives you seven different Yiddish keyboards to choose from. After installing this package, you can try out each of theses keyboards if you like, or just select one in advance. Help files will point you to diagrams showing the layout and functionality of each of the seven keyboard layouts so that you can decide what you want to do.

DOWNLOAD INSTRUCTIONS:

• Free download - Right-click here to install

• Follow instructions on your drop-down menu; eg.,
  • in Netscape, select Save Link As
  • in Explorer, select Save Target As (or Open)

• Save the file where you want, but make a note of it so that you can find it again later.

INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS:

• From Start, click Run and then browse to find the file <kbdyid.exe> to run the installation.

• Follow all instructions during the installation.

• When you're finished, click on the Yiddish Keyboards icon (or on Start, Programs, Yiddish Keyboards, Yiddish Keyboard Layouts Help) and then click on each Contents item in the left column.

• You must complete all steps in the Read This First section.

• Afterwards, return to the Welcome screen and click on the links provided to read about how to configure each listed program for Yiddish.

SPECIAL INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS FOR NT-4 USERS:

• You must upgrade to at least version 5.01 or higher of Internet Explorer. You can upgrade to version 5.5 by running the ie5setup.exe program that is on Ziggy's CDROM (in the ie55 directory), or you can go to Microsoft's website for a free download. Be sure to upgrade Outlook Express when you upgrade IE.

• Most people, including NT users,  have been able to use any of the keyboards provided. However, one NT user did report that he was only able to use the "Yiddish Pasekh" Keyboard; so if you have trouble, try that one.
